Continuing Education

Each state requires licensed real estate agents to complete a certain number of continuing education hours during each renewal period. Each state requirements for continuing education differ and it is important for every real estate agent to be familiar with the requirements.

Below are links to the state websites to determine the your continuing education requirements. It is a good idea to print out the state requirements so that you will have a handy list of the number of elective and mandatory continuing education credit hours needed for renewal of your real estate license. Virginia Agents: Please note the distinction between continuing education and post-licensing credit hour requirements in addition to the difference between elective and mandatory credit hours.

Continuing Education Classes

MARYLAND Before starting any Maryland online continuing education classes, you may want to print out the Maryland Continuing Education Reference Sheet. The reference sheet will provide general guidelines for online enrollment and completion and provides a listing of available online continuing education classes showing class title, number of credit hours and type of credit earned. ATTENTION FOR ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS:

The State of Maryland requires all students to complete and submit an affidavit upon the completion of an online class. Click "Affidavit", complete the requested information, and submit the affidavit to the School. The completed affidavit may be mailed to the school’s address shown below or faxed to 410-480-1550. Credit for completion of online continuing education classes cannot be issued until the affidavit is received by the school.

The student must submit the completed affidavit within 30 days of completion of any online class. If an affidavit is not submitted within the 30 day time limit, a $25 administration fee payable to the School will be required.

The reference sheet will provide general guidelines for online enrollment and completion and provides a listing of available online continuing education classes showing class title, continuing education vs. post-licensing credit, number of credit hours and type of credit earned. ATTENTION FOR ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS:

The State of Virginia requires all students to complete and submit a notarized affidavit upon completion of an online class. Click "Affidavit", complete the requested information, sign in front of a notary public and submit the affidavit to the School to the address shown below. Faxed notarized affidavits cannot be accepted. Credit for completion of online classes cannot be issued until the notarized affidavit is received by the school.

The student must submit the completed affidavit within 30 days of completion of any online class. If an affidavit is not submitted within the 30 day time limit, a $25 administration fee payable to the School will be required.
